Special Shareholder Meeting

There will be a Special Shareholder meeting to vote on the purchase of a generator for the treatment plant. Under Article 5, Section 15 of the by-laws a shareholder vote is required for any new purchases over $15,000. Absentee ballots will be distributed by the election committee volunteers within the next 7 days. For anyone not in the community the ballot was mailed to you.
The reason for the purchase of the generator is to ensure that the treatment plant can continue to function during a sustained power outage. As we have experienced in the past, any power outage lasting longer than 5 days will result in the “bugs” used to process the sludge at the treatment plant to be lost and having to be replaced. By installing this generator, we will not have any interruption in water & sewer services in the community during a power outage.
We must have a quorum or we will not be able to conduct business. Therefore, it is extremely important that you submit your absentee ballot, complete a proxy or attend the meeting.
If you submit an absentee ballot or proxy, you are still welcome to attend the scheduled meeting; however, your absentee ballot or proxy stands.
